Winter tour? The open road? Scary…but oh so good.
Hello from the insane mind of Geri X:
We are getting close to Christmas and even closer to the New Year.
Most of you know (if you’ve been watching my video blogs) that I will be leaving for a West Coast tour come January 20th. Not only is this an acoustic tour, but its solo, which means me by myself in the car with only my guitar and amp and the road. This is the first time I will be heading out on the road by myself and needless to say I am both excited and nervous.
You can never prepare enough for what might happen out there and the nature of the game of being a touring musician (or a musician in general) is that “what can happen, will happen”. I think we all know that from my track record this summer… With that said, I am fundraising again. This time it’s a bit different. I created a profile on KickStarter (a website specifically built to help projects get funded). The catch there is that at the end of the 30 day fundraising period if I haven’t hit the goal I don’t receive any of the money.
So, again, I am asking for your support in helping me hit the goal to be able to go out on tour a little less strapped and stressed. If the car breaks down, I’s like to be able to fix it, if a gig falls through, Id like to sleep in a bed instead of on a bench. Bottom line is, this crazy thing I’m doing, I’m doing for the love of music and the fans. I can’t do it without you. Whatever you can contribute would be greatly appreciated and rewarded. This fundraiser works almost like a guaranteed raffle. You receive something for each dollar donated.

We are going to take over Downtown St Petersburg for a night of manly behavior and honest to goodness downright awesome music.
Geri X will be hosting a Lumberjack themed night at Fubar in Downtown St Petersburg on Friday Dec. 10th. Sharing the stage will be Noah Engh THE KID FANTASTIC hailing from Los Angeles, California. Noah has been living in a car (just like Geri) for over 2 years now touring the country. He is a one man band touring machine (http://www.facebook.com/NoahEngh). Joining will be the extraordinary DJ Nemesis (http://www.myspace.com/fusionproductions) and the psychedelic-dreamy Setandsetting (http://www.facebook.com/setandsetting).
Ok, so for all of this, all you have to do is save up $5. Thats it! And if you have a mustache, sideburns, and or a beard, wear your sundays best flannel shirt and we will have a judging contest at the end of the night and you will win some swag and free drinks. Hey, you may even drink for free the whole night! So...no shave december? i think so! btw, ladies are no excluded from the contest! fantastic fake mustaches and beards are legit to enter you into the contest!
